Outcomes

BPE has operated Dearborn STEM Academy since August 2015. Since then:

• The school’s attendance is 87%, which is among the highest attendance rates for BPS high schools.
• 94% of 8th graders chose to stay at Dearborn STEM for high school, though all BPS high schools are options for our students.
• Over the past three years, we have quadrupled the number of rising 9th grade students choosing the Dearborn as a top three choice among open enrollment schools in the first round of BPS admissions.
• We have cut the Dearborn annual attrition rate by roughly 40% since 2015.
• In 2021, 100% of seniors were accepted to a 2- or 4-year college or post-secondary program with over $1.3M in scholarships. In 2020, 100% of our seniors were accepted to a 2- or 4-year college or post-secondary program, with over $1.7M in scholarships. Acceptances include: Brandeis, Wentworth, UConn, Temple, WPI, UMass Boston/Dartmouth/Lowell, Providence, Assumption, Salem State, University of New Hampshire, Suffolk, Merrimack, Northeastern and Boston College.
